Aquatics

The Community Recreation program has access to 4 indoor pools at North High, South High, James Madison Elementary and Central Support Facility and offers aquatic programs for ages 6 months to adult.

Fitness
Adult Classes - Year Round Programs - 7-10 Week Sessions
Basic Beginnings A class designed to assist sedentary individuals to increase their level of fitness.
Low Impact Cardio & Sculpt Total body workout with easy to follow aerobics and muscle strengthening exercises
Yoga Variety of movement, proper breathing, strength development, flexibility and deep relaxation.
Dance-R-Cise Enjoy exercise with dance skills and easy to follow patterns.
Cardio Dance & Tone Easy cardio dance movements to energize you followed by exercises to strengthen and tone your body
Cardio Sculpt & Stretch Toning, weights and stretching.
The Tone Zone Improve muscular strength, balance, flexibility and endurance. Special emphasis on core strengthening.
Boot Camp High energy workout designed to provide a total body strength and cardiovascular workout using basic exercises.
Fusion Dance Aerobics Takes the core strengthening of belly dance along with the popping and locking of hip hop, add in today's fast paced music to get your heart pumping.
Zumba Easy to follow moves including the salsa and cumbia are set to energizing Latin rhythms that will make you love to workout.
Spinning Work out the days stresses on a spin bike.
Beginners Step Designed to teach the beginner how to step while learning the basic step moves.
Step 'n Tone Through the use of hand weights and dynabands you will warm up, step, coll down and stretch - all to music - using a 4", 6: or 8" step platform.
Step & Sculpt Designed for the experienced stepper, this high intensity workout combines an extended step aerobic period with a body sculpting session that delivers a diverse combination of non-stop exercises. This workout will inspire you to master all the moves to keep your body moving and your heart pumping.
Weekend Warriors Drop in weekend Cardio Dance & Tone, Step Express, Dance Express and Toning Express. Sept. thru May.
Ultimate Water Workout Total allover body workout using lap swimming and powerful aerobic moves in deep and shallow water. Participants need to be prepared to swim and challenge themselves in this class.
Water Relief 30 minutes of slow paced exercises to increase range of motion and flexibility, followed by 30 minutes of open swim or water walking.
Water Power Aerobics II Instructor leads aerobic and strengthening exercises for an excellent workout in the warm shallow water of James Madison Pool. Cardiovascular movement for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of water walking.
Wake Up With Water! Wake up with this 45 minute shallow water aerobic class and get your body pumping!
Get Up & Go with H20! Low level water aerobic class. You do not need to know how to swim as all exercises are done in the shallow end of the pool.
No Impact Deep Water Aerobics Use a floatation belt in deep water to offer virtually no impact on joints while maintaining an aerobic workout.
Water Power Aerobics Drop-in program. Water exercise to music. Mornings, afternoons and evenings.
